In the fall of 2009, we purchased a piece of property and so began Sakonnet Farm. We have about 100 egg laying chickens and 4 goats Maggie, Lucy, Snickers and Bandit. We also have some ducks and a bunny. We have pasture raised broilers and plan to do again some time in the future. We have seasonal produce, plants and herbs for sale along with our eggs and frozen broilers via the honor system in the garage on our farm.
This blog began as a way for me to document our travels through the seasons here in New England, mostly with recipes and our family's activities. Sakonnet Farm has made it possible for us to expand on this way of living, and we hope to someday make a living at it as well.
