We spent most of the day helping the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity , which my brother in law is the newly elected president.
Their current project is a home, which was filled with mold, of a 6 year old girl with leukemia. To read more and see more pictures click here.
Alyssa was dad's helper all day (she took my job!)
So I did some yard work and then worked on the radiators. Sanded & spray painted. Probably got a little high on the fumes!
Jami dumping out our brush.
All the kids were great helpers. We spent most of the day there. Adam got that whole wall shingled.
Hannah's (the little girl) grandparents were there. They are friendly with Adam's aunt, who was also there with her hubby. The grandpa, Pape, was so cute. We had big hugs when we were leaving and we all teared up. What a great way to spend the day!

What a great cause. Good for you for helping others. Valuable lesson I need to teach my kids.
ReplyDeleteGood for you and I think it's great that the kids are helping!! I wish more parents would get their kids involved like this : )
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that the children joined in the effort. You are teaching without preaching>
