Phil's Phans & Mother's Day

I have a couple different things to mention- quickly so I can get back to my google reader, I was well over 200 unread items to catch up on.

First, I wanted to share that I just got my first, unexpected, early Mother's Day present. Hubby decided to take all the kids out to the store to get me a "gift." This is very cool, a quiet house to myself, a special treat reserved for holidays such as Christmas Eve when he finally drags himself out shopping. So I just poured myself a glass of wine and crawled into bed- without sheets as Jonathan threw up on them this am- but hubby also put them into the dryer for me, yippee! Didn't realize he knew how to work that thing. Oh, and Marjory, if you are reading- I could use the wine opener just fine in my kitchen- I guess I was just wrong to be using it at school! (Simple machines lesson at school, I had a complete mental block on how to use the wine bottle opener, ha! Like I don't do that all the time!)

Second I wanted to tell you that we did spend the night at the Relay for Live in a tent, in the rain, in the middle of a football field filled with high school kids that didn't need any sleep, with the lights on so it looked like day all thru the night. BUT, it was totally worth it because we made OVER $7000 and we were the #3 fundraising team of the event!!! WOO-HOO!!! I am so happy that we were able to raise that much money. I had set a goal of $5000 that I thought was very high, and we blew that right out of the water!
