Mother's Day Recap

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day, I sure did. Started with coffee delivered by hubby (which is not an only Mother's day thing, the great guy will do that every morning if my lazy a** is not up when he gets up) and then breakfast made by the kids. Thankfully he was able to stall them for a little while & I had time to wake up the taste buds.

I got some very cute things; this paper flower and a painted flower pot from Megan, a "recycled" notepad from Jami, and a poster all about me from Alyssa. Well, it was supposed to be about me but it was plastered with dog pictures- she's always trying... The note pad was very cute, they cut up leftover papers from school and bound them together. A very "green" idea, which we all love!

And from the store trip I got 3 different colors of nail polish, some bath salts and very cute cards. The kids all brought their own money and paid for the things themselves. Jami had picked out a float for the pool, but it was recalled and they wouldn't let her get it. I also got this book, anyone else ever read this?

I read it yesterday, much to my husband's surprise. I think he thought I would return it. It was actually kind of funny, this guy said a lot of things my husband would say. Pretty much it boiled down to men are very simple creatures; they need to provide, protect and get the cookie. His words, not mine! Any of you that know Adam, sounds just like him, huh???
So after breakfast and a little reading in bed, the kids decided they wanted to so SWIMMING! So I played lifeguard, which means more reading, can't complain about that. I can't even tell you how cold that waster was but FREEZING! And the air temp was so cold too, the wind was whipping. I had on capri's and flip flops and had to change because my feet were too cold! Even Jonathan went right in (stayed on this floaty the whole time) but this is a big step for him. He has always been scared of the water.

We visited with my mother in law then went to my mom's for Chinese, yum! My grandparents came too and we had some really wonderful conversations. I truly am blessed with a wonderful family!
